Tango was originally a dance improvisation, which is combined rhythms and movements of several earlier music and dance traditions. The most striking mark left by "candombe", the Argentine version of Dance of slaves from Africa, which were brought to the port of Buenos Aires. The second source was the Cuban "Habanera", a mixture of French, colonial kontradanse with African influence. Elements of the Cuban habanera and the European polka merged a local Argentine dance "milonga". Milonga was originally poem full of improvisations sung payadores or folk singers Argentinean steppe, pampas. As the dance became popular among kompadritosima, on the streets of Buenos Aires's 70-ies of the 19th century. Some historians believe that these specific kompadritosi improvise and imitate the movements of black candombe players and burn them into milongas, which created the first tango notes of the late 1870s.
